THE IDEA
The desire and need to build saxophones have always been there for Peter, and before developing the G Mezzo Soprano Saxophone he has built several standard saxophones.

For many years he felt that a voice was missing from the saxophone family, and inspired by the beautiful, melancholic sound of the Cor Anglais, he had the idea to make a saxophone in the key of G, thus placing it right between the Sopranosax in Bb and the Altosax in Eb.

He started prototyping in 2006 and by 2008 G Mezzo #1 was finished and sold to Benjamin Koppel.

In 2010 he finished G Mezzo #2 on request from Jazz great Joe Lovano.
