Peter started playing the saxophone at the age 12.

He began his apprenticeship aged 16, at Marno Sørensen, a leading windshop in Copenhagen, under the guidance of Svend Åge Andersen who had been with the company for 40 years.

In 1980 he finishes his training as a woodwind repair man and

stays with the company for the next two years.

In 1982 he becomes a full time professional musician, playing freelance and doing theatre work.

Between 1990-1994 he joins a professional blues band in England and travels all over Europe. From 1992 he works part time as a repair man in London. 

In 1994 he returns to a full time repair job at i.K.Gottfried in Copenhagen. Apart from his repair work he begins to experiment with making mouthpieces.

In 2001 he meets Munich based Instrument inventor Benedikt Eppelsheim, and during an epiphanous stay at his workshop, he learns basic manufacturing methods, metalworking and acoustics. After this he starts making necks for saxophone.

In 2002 he builds his first prototype Tenorsax, after this follows: Tenorsaxes #1 and #2, prototype Altosax, and he begins work on the G Mezzo Soprano Saxophone. For this project, he receives invaluable help and advice from Mr. Eppelsheim and visits his shop in Munich on several occasions.

In 2008 G Mezzo #01 is finished and sold to Benjamin Koppel,

who performs original material written for the instrument by Anders Koppel and makes numerous recordings with it.

In 2010 G Mezzo #2 is finished on the request of Jazz great

Joe Lovano.

Peter is active as a musician and plays G Mezzo #3. He plays with the band Pligten Kalder (Duty Calls) and enjoys jamming with impro band Exorbitants. 

To date he has built 13 G Mezzo Soprano Saxophones.
